Terms of service

Plain terms for a small product. If something here seems unfair, say so — at this size we can still change it.
The service
Resume Computer builds job-application pages from evidence you provide, and reports honestly on who reads them. It is offered as-is while in invite-only testing, and features may change.
Your account
- You need an invitation. Accounts are personal — don’t share sign-in links.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- You are responsible for what you publish through the service.
Your content stays yours
Your evidence base, your pages and your resume are yours. You grant us only the licence needed to run the product — to store your material, to send the relevant parts to the model that drafts a page, and to serve pages you publish. We claim no ownership, and we do not use your content to train models.
Accuracy is yours
This is the important one. The system arranges and phrases evidence you gave it, and refuses to publish a claim that traces to nothing — but it cannot know whether what you told it is true. Every page is your representation about yourself. Read it before you send it. Misrepresenting your experience to an employer is your risk and your responsibility, and we can’t carry it for you.
Company branding on pages
Pages use a company’s visual language — palette, type feel, tone — to show the application was made for them. They do not use company logos or marks by default, do not claim affiliation, and always carry a disclosure footer identifying the page as an independent application by you. That footer is rendered by the system and cannot be removed or reordered.
You must not use the service to impersonate a company or a person, to suggest an endorsement you don’t have, or to upload marks you have no right to use.
If you represent a company and object to a page that names you, write to hello@resumecomputer.com. Takedown requests from a named company are acted on the same day.
Acceptable use
- One person, one identity. Don’t apply as somebody else.
- No bulk or automated generation of pages for people who didn’t ask.
- Don’t attempt to identify the individual people who read your pages; the product will not help you and neither will we.
- Don’t upload content you have no right to, or anything unlawful.
Payment
There is no paid plan yet: during the invite period the service is free and nothing is metered. When paid plans arrive they will be billed monthly in advance and cancel at the end of the period you’ve paid for — no partial-month refunds, and no writing in to cancel. If we get something wrong and charge you for it, we’ll refund it. You’ll be told before any of this switches on.
Ending it
Delete your account whenever you like, from settings; everything is deleted. We may suspend an account that breaks the acceptable-use terms above, and we’ll tell you why.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, you’ll get an email before it takes effect, and the date at the top will move. Continuing to use the service after that is agreeing to the new terms.
Governing law
To be confirmed with counsel before public launch. Until then: if we disagree about something, we’ll talk to you about it first, and the courts of the country the service is operated from apply.
Liability
The service is provided without warranties. We are not liable for hiring outcomes — we cannot make anyone read your page or offer you a job. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months.
